Our Values

Blue cartoon-like star with a simple face on a white background

curiosity

We see the world through a child’s eyes — full of wonder, adventure, and wild imagination. Every piece we make is made to climb higher, dig deeper, and dream louder.

craft

Quality matters. We work with small factories that care deeply about what they make, using premium fabrics and thoughtful construction so our clothes last.

conscience

We believe good design shouldn’t cost the earth. From organic fabrics to recycled packaging, we make considered choices every step of the way.

Our Responsibility

CRAFT

At A Kid Called Ed, we create with care, and transparency. Our pieces are thoughtfully made in China and India by trusted makers, and we only produce what we know will be loved, trying our best to keep stock low and waste minimal.

We value the relationships we build with the people who make our clothes, working closely to ensure every piece is crafted with skill, attention, and care. Every supplier meets global standards like BSCI, ISO 9001, FSC, and GOTS, so each piece is made with quality and responsibility at its core.

We’re not perfect, but we’re always learning. The love of our craft guides every decision we make, from fabrics to packaging — and shapes how we use the planet’s resources. Our goal is simple: to create pieces that last while looking after the world our children will inherit.

CONSCIENCE

Being a brand with a conscience means thinking beyond the product itself. We deliberately use minimal packaging, designing it to do more with less. Our mailers are made from recycled and recyclable materials, and crafted so they can be recycled with soft plastics. Stickers and tissue paper are all thoughtfully designed to leave as little impact as possible, they’re home compostable and disappear once their job is done.

Using less packaging isn’t just about reducing waste; it’s about being intentional with every material we touch. By keeping packaging minimal, we reduce resources, simplify our footprint, and create a circular system where materials stay in use longer. Guided by our conscience, every choice we make, from design to delivery — considers the planet, helping future generations inherit a world that’s well cared for.

CURIOSITY

Curiosity is at the heart of everything we do, the same curiosity that drives children to explore, ask questions, and discover the world around them. It inspires the clothes we design, from playful details to thoughtful functionality, and keeps us asking “what if?” in every part of our process.

Our curiosity extends to the craft itself. We are endlessly fascinated by the skills and techniques of our clever makers, learning from their expertise and exploring how traditional methods can meet modern design. We experiment boldly, knowing that mistakes are part of the journey, and every misstep is an opportunity to discover something new.

This curiosity also guides how we approach sustainability. We’re constantly learning how to make our products kinder to the planet and the people who make them. Every design choice, every new idea, is a chance to play, experiment, and grow — not just for the children who wear our clothes, but for us as a brand too.
